EEE Freshers Orientation: Fall 2024

On October 22nd, 2024, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at ULAB warmly welcomed its newest batch of students through a vibrant and engaging Freshers Orientation Program – Fall 2024.

The Department of EEE organized the event with enthusiastic support from the ULAB Electronics and Robotics Club and IEEE RAS ULAB Student Branch Chapter. It brought together freshers, faculty members, current students, alumni, and staff from academic and administrative units.

The program began with an introductory session by Dr. A B M Sayeed Ud Doulah, Associate Professor and Course Coordinator, who provided an overview of the department, its programs, and facilities. This was followed by an inspiring speech from Dr. S. M. Mahbubur Rahman, Head of the Department and Dean of the School of Science and Engineering.

The event was further enriched by the presence of Dr. Md. Shofiqul Islam, adjunct faculty and Associate Professor at King Abdulaziz University, who shared motivational remarks. Additionally, two students—an alumnus currently serving as a GTA and a current undergraduate—shared their personal experiences, helping freshers connect with the community and visualize their journey ahead.

To make the day more memorable, freshers received a welcoming gift and participated in a group photo session. The event concluded with an introduction to various departmental clubs and co-curricular opportunities, encouraging new students to get involved and make the most of their ULAB experience.
